Set In 1980, Ho Chang works as a staff member for a college baseball team. He’s planning a dream vacation but his plans get derailed by a new assignment. He’s ordered to scout Sun Dong Eul, the most sought after high school baseball player in Korea.
Ho Chang goes to Kwang-Ju to scout Sun Dong. He finds it more difficult than expected as rival scouts from other universities are hindering his plans. Furthermore, he meets his ex girlfriend and her low-life boyfriend who starts threatening Ho Chang.
To make things worse, the baseball player’s parents do not appear to be on Ho Chang’s side. Rumors also say that Sun Dong was already scouted by rival teams. Ho Chang is unable to even get a meeting with Sun Dong, so Ho Chang takes matters into his own hands. He decides to kidnap him!
“Scout” is a fun sports based comedy. Before you watch the movie I will give you a tip. Sun Dong Eul is actually a real baseball player. He is somewhat of a legend in Korean baseball history. I think back then, all the scouts were in a hysteria to recruit him. If you know that, it will be a lot more fun to watch. Also, the director, Hyeon-seok Kim, is no stranger to sports/comedies. His first film was “YMCA Baseball team”, which was also a comedy centered around the game of baseball. “YMCA Baseball Team” wasn’t very successful, but this time around let’s see if using a real life baseball legend will appeal more to audiences.

KDE 4.0 Beta 4

There’s less than 2 months (got my fingers crossed) until the final KDE 4.0 is released. In the meantime KDE, has released Beta 4 of KDE 4.0 which can be downloaded here. There’s also a openSUSE based KDE 4 Beta 4 Live CD which can be downloaded here and a Debian based Beta 4 Live CD here. Next up for KDE will be the first release candidate for KDE 4.0!

Western Digital releases 320GB notebook hard drive

If you’re running out of space on your laptop, you might be interested in knowing that Western Digital has released a new 320 GB hard drive for notebooks. The Scorpio 320 is a 2.5″ SATA hard drive, with 12 ms access time and spins at 5400 RPM. The unit retails for a suggest price of $199.99. Reasonably priced and provides ample space indeed.

Yahoo! Messenger 9.0 Beta

Yahoo! has released Messenger 9.0 Beta for the Windows platform. New features include refreshed contact list views, flickr integration, inline media player and improved voice calling features. There’s also 6 new localized versions (Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, India and Vietnam). You can download the beta here.
New Features for Yahoo! Messenger 9.0 Beta:
- A whole new look for your contact list. Keep it in detail view to see larger Avatar images for your friends, or switch to compact list view (in the Contacts menu). Plus, you can just hover and click to IM, SMS or call a friend.
- Brand new skins and emoticons! Click the dot near the top of your Messenger window to choose a skin, and check the emoticon menu for the new ones that were inspired by user entries in our Emoticontest earlier this year (more on our winners in a future post).
- New Flickr integration in the photo sharing feature. Easily share photos from your Flickr.com account, or save photos shared with you directly to Flickr.
- A new in-line media player that makes it easy to view maps, photos and videos from sites like Yahoo! Video and YouTube right in the IM window. No plug-ins needed, no extra downloads — it’s built right in. Just send a video, map or photo link to another friend who’s also on 9.0 to try it out.
- New features for voice calls. You can have your incoming Phone In or free PC calls forwarded to another number like your mobile, home or office phone, even if you’re signed out of Messenger (Phone Out account required). Parallels has released a new (beta build 5540) of their Parallels Desktop for Mac program. Most notable new features would be better compatibility with Leopard, improved Direct X & OpenGL peformance, and improvements to Coherence mode.
