Bears are a duo from Cleveland, Ohio, that makes bedroom twee pop, influenced by familiar Glasglow bands and sounding a bit like the Boy Least Likely To. They have recently self released their debut album, which is simply called Bears. The duo of Craig Ramsey and Charlie McArthur have made a nice collection of summer pop songs that will most likely show up on the radar of most twee pop loving fans. They will even be opening up for Camera Obscura at the Grog Shop over in Cleveland on July 29th. Some highlights to be found on the album would be “Walk Away” (very sweet song that happens to have been the first song they ever recorded as the Bears), “How To Live” (plenty of organs for the psychedlic loving fans), “Everywhere,” (has the melody of a long lost classic from the 60’s), and “Over It.” Bears should appeal heavily to fans of the Lucksmiths, The Boy Least Likely and the Labrador bands, worthwhile to checkout indeed.
