Ah the holidays… It’s that wonderful time of the year where the suicide rate goes up, the shoppers get down and joy, or something like that, is all around. In the “blogosphere” and magazines alike there is a different holiday of sorts. It’s the time of the year where we recount the offerings of the year and come up with a bunch of lists of the “best” albums of the year. For the most part the lists are all the same depending on which uber hip bands put out records during the year and predictability and comment wars ensue.
Well, since we’ve already done the token top album list this year we thought we’d treat you to something a little bit different and instead of spreading the cheer spread a little… sneer. Thus we present the annoyingly long titled “Top 10 Bands That Should Break Up (…Who Also Happened to Put Out Records This Year)”.

End of the year, snow bells are ringing are you glistening and so it is time. Last year we didn’t put up a year end best of list, simply because there’s already a list of rated albums on the sidebar, but this time around I thought why not? After time opinions do change so a year end list would make for a fun read (I hope). Not only are there year end lists from yours truly and MikeSpiegs, we asked some of our past interviewees to send in their list as well! So below you’ll find list of favorite albums from Traceyann Campbell (Camera Obscura), Johan Angergård (Club 8), Britta Phillips (Dean & Britta), David Best (Fujiya & Miyagi), Emanuel Lundgren (I’m From Barcelona), Adam Olenius (Shout Out Louds) and Markland Starkie (Sleeping States).
